The Scottish Biological Resource Centre (SBRC) was established as a collaboration with Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) and Drug Discovery Ltd.

SBRC’s purpose is to discover unique molecules from microorganisms.  Projects will be initiated to:

• Find, access, and isolate organisms from own unique collection and diverse international sources
• Select and grow suitable strains
• Create active extracts
• Screen strains for relevant activity
