NCIMB attending the Microbiome Times Partnering Forum

NCIMB news March 2026

NCIMB is delighted to be attending the Microbiome Times Partnering Forum. The event, which is organised by the Microbiome Times Magazine will be held in Copenhagen March 18-19.

We are looking forward to making new connections and highlighting the products and services we offer to support companies and researchers working in the microbiome arena in managing the microorganisms they work with.

Our services include:

  • Strain supply and licensing: Our strain collection comprises thousands of strains including lactic acid bacteria, species included in the EFSA Qualified Presumption of Safety list, and more.
  • Whole genome and 16S sequencing for quality control and R&D applications. We can help you meet EFSA requirements for whole genome sequence analysis of microorganisms intentionally used in the food chain.
  • Confidential off-site back-up storage services for your important strains.
  • We have developed a laboratory gut model to make it easier to study microorganisms in vitro, and select the most promising for improving health.
  • We undertake contract research to support microbial strain enhancement, adaptation, engineering and evolution towards your requirements.

At the event we will be seeking:

  • Partners we can work with to validate our gut model.
  • Partners to further develop and test a hyper-butyrate-producing strain of Clostridium butyricum.
  • Customers that require
    • Commercial use licenses for bacterial strains.
    • Research services for microbial strain engineering and enhancement.
    • Storage services to protect important strains. Strains stored with us can be assigned a unique NCIMB number allowing you to reference your strain whilst maintaining trade secrets.
  • Microbiology and sequencing services to support the development of probiotic or therapeutic strains.
